DOE (Department of Environment) EiMAS Selects
EverZinc Malaysia for its DOE Officer Training

In the last week of June, EverZinc Malaysia hosted the DOE (Department of Environment) officer training program from the EiMAS (Environment Institute of
Malaysia). The DOE has officially selected EverZinc Malaysia to be the official location for its training program in order to complete the DOE officers’ assignment of ‘Competent Person’ for bag filter operations.

According to the DOE, EZ Malaysia was chosen because it is one of the best companies that complies with the DOE requirement either for daily operations or documentation. This first hands-on training program was conducted at our Malaysian location by Najidah Sharifah (EHS & ISO) and Rosaimi Zakaria (Maintenance).

Bag filter operations play a crucial role. Indeed, one of the main air pollution control systems widely used in industry in Malaysia for the control of dust pollutants is the bag filter. Good knowledge and practice of its use meet social and environmental compliance, and also help with cost reduction in maintenance and production and ensure smooth production.

Our COO, Jean-Christophe Salek, concludes: ‘Congratulations to Marc Chin, EverZinc Malaysia General Manager, and his team for hosting the DOE training! This is a good sign of trust and recognition of EZ Malaysia’s seriousness in all EHS topics. Special thanks to Najidah Sharifah for her dedication and hard work!’

Zainuri Kaulan (Maintenance Supervisor) explains to Amirul Ashraf (DOE’s Trainee Officer) the procedure to measure the wind speed flow rate in the suction pipe from packing to
bag house.
