Because of its many useful properties (such as UV absorption, mild antiseptic effects, healing of chapped skin) zinc oxide is used in a wide range of cosmetics and personal care products including makeup, bandages, diapers, nail products, bath soaps and foot powders. Zinc oxide is also used in skin protectants, such as diaper rash ointments and sunscreen products.
To be used as an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) in products such as baby care products or creams for instance, zinc oxide needs to be GMP certified by the manufacturer. Everzinc offers a range of high-purity zinc oxide products for use as API and excipient in pharmaceutical and personal care applications. Without certification, zinc oxide might not be accepted as raw material for the manufacture of these products.
Our Pharma Grade zinc oxide comes from the French or indirect process where we use only pure GMP approved SHG zinc. Everzinc offers very pure zinc oxide with two different levels of specific surfaces: a high specific surface (HSS) zinc oxide ranging from 5-9 m2/g and a low specific surface (LSS) zinc oxide ranging from 3-7m2/g.
The zinc oxide Pharma-GMP LSS and HSS are covered by an official CEP certificate. They further meet the specifications of the European (EP) and United States (USP) Pharmacopoeia monographs for zinc oxide.
We develop, in collaboration with our customers, zinc oxide with specific characteristics in order to allow them to have the exact raw material they need for the manufacture of their product. Please contact us for more information.
